Soundry Creations have a project running at the moment where they are inviting people to submit a one minute “Sound Postcard” from wherever in the world they might be, these can be made on any recording device from a phone to high end mics.
Myself and the film maker Emma Dove are currently half way through a collaborative residency in the Highlands working on a project called “Mirror Lands”. While out filming and recording in the Fairy Glen on the Black Isle a gentleman walking with two canes stops to ask us what we are trying to capture. What initially feels like an interrupted take actually proves to be a gem of a sonic moment.

My "Terrestrial Sea" Installations open tomorrow night from 6.30 at the Lighthouse Field Station Cromarty, the Black Isle.
The result of a 4 month bio-acoustic residency working with Marine Biologists exploring how environment effects behaviour in human and marine mammals, particularly sound and light.
